The Proud Sisters

Brinnley and Ainsley came to the hospital the next morning with Kara's mom. (Letha was in town waiting for Porter to arrive so it was good timing all around.) Kara and I were not so worried about Brinnley and a new baby because she has done this before and has loved being the big sister, but Ainsley had shown signs of being jelous when Kara would hold other peoples babies Ainsley would cry and try her hardest to scale up her legs to get into her arms to take the place of that new baby in mom's arms. So we were worried about the reaction but all went well. When they got to the hospital they both headed for mom and then turned their attention to their new baby brother, Porter. They were very gracious about taking turns holding Porter but it seemed that they just wanted to have him to themselves. It was so cute to see that side of Brinnley and Ainsley, Porter will be loved, spoiled and adored by His sisters! (Just Like I was!) :) Porter and I already have alot to talk about, with me being the youngest with two older sisters.
Kara and I really do feel like we are LIVIN' OUR DREAMS!

Porter Makes a Quick Entrance!

Porter Reid Williams
6 June 2008
8lbs 12oz
20 inches

Our Doctor Broke Kara's water at 6:15pm and she delivered Porter at 7:47pm. Our doctor had just come home from a cruise the day before so it was his first day back to work. We had an appointment with him at 11:30am and we found out she was progressing towards labor and so we talked about induction dates and Dr. Young wanted to wait at least three more days so He called the hospital to schedual a time to Induce Kara. Well the hospital was all booked for the days he wanted so he said she is coming today! I was excited, Kara was excited and nervous. The doctor had a full day at the office because it was his first day back, so he told us to head up to the hospital and the nurses would start her on Pitosin ( I am not sure I spelled that right?) "PIT" for short, and that he would come up after work and break her water. Finally Dr. Young arrives to break her water and then the real fun starts...Dr. Young had plans with family and friends that evening because he had been out of town so he went home and said to call him as soon as she gets uncomfortable. He was well aware that Kara's deliveries are quick! So the contractions are getting progressively worse and the nurses checks her dialation and says she is at a 7 so kara said CALL DR. YOUNG!!! I think that is the last thing she really remembers until after Porter was born. She was in the zone, she had a job to do and no was getting in the way. She seemed very in control the whole time and just focused on getting through the contractions. They call the Doctor and He was quick! I was impressed, he was even a little winded like he ran from the parking lot! (He is a great Dr.) As he walked in he asked the nurse if he had time to change clothes, then he looked at the moniters and said "no I don't". He threw on a gown and gloves, looked at me and said "just so you know I have Never come in like this before", He was in a polo shirt, cargo shorts and crockadile shoes. That was all the chit-chat we had before he told Kara to push with the next contraction, so with one big push and a hard contraction Porter was out and on Kara's stomach getting cleaned off and that is when Kara came around and out of the Zone she was in. With Porter on her belly and knowing she did not have her hands up to hold him on she told me and the nurses not to drop him and then looked up to see Dr. Young and asked "when did you get here?". He assured her that he made it in time and that she had just did an amazing job. Porter did get bruised alittle coming down the birth canal so fast the nurses called it "hitting the floor" because he hit the pelvic floor so fast and hard that he bruised up his nose and lip and also he was alittle purple because the cord was wrapped around his neck just a little. Well the Picures can tell you the rest. We are so greatful that Porter is here and healthy along with Kara who is recovering well.

The Saga Continues

So, for those of you who saw the pictures, but don't know the story, here it is. We have a chiropractic table so Chant can adjust me at home. We use it a lot and when I am done the girls get up on it and Chant adjusts them. The day Ainsley broke her arm (April 16) she was sitting on the table and Brinnley was standing on the floor. They were playing that Brinnley was in trouble and AInsley was rescuing her. Ainsley would hold Brinn's hand while Brinn climbed onto the table. One time Brinn actually pulled and Ainsley was not expecting it, so down she went. It is not a long fall, but she landed just right. We took her to the ER right away. It broke in a V shape and then the bone turned. They started Ainsley on Morphine and transported her by ambulance to a children's hospital in downtown St. Louis. They kept her over night and the next morning she got two pins put in. Poor thing! It was a rough start, but she has figured it out and is her normal self. But then yesterday happened. . .

Chant is on break between trimesters right now. We haven't had a chance to do anything fun yet and the break is almost over. So we thought we would take a day trip to Jefferson City. It is a little over an hour away. There are lots of free things we wanted to do and we also wanted to go grocery shopping at a store called Hy-Vee. (It is like WinCo). We wanted to go shopping first in case the girls were cranky later on. We got to town about 12:30. When I put Brinnley in the cart I noticed the gap in between the handle and the cart was large, but I didn't think anything of it. I was pushing Brinn and Chant had Ainsley in another cart. We were in the first aisle of the store when Ainsley discovered she could fit her cast down in that gap. She had done it twice and Chant told her not to do it again. It came right out with a little turning. So he had just barely gotten it out for the second time and turned to get something off the shelf. When he turned back her arm was stuck again and she was tugging to get it loose. I was a little ahead of Chant, so when he screamed my name I twirled around. The first thing I saw was her tiny purple cast laying on the floor. It had popped right off. I flipped out! Chant picked the cast up and tried to put it on just far enough so she couldn't use her hand. We found a clerk and got some paper towels to cover the pins so they wouldn't get infected. Then we got directions to the hospital. We were in the ER 4 hours. They put a temporary splint on it and send us back down to our children's hospital. Chant dropped Brinnley and I at the house and he and Ainsley went on to the hospital. The ER was packed so they didn't even get seen until 1:00 this morning and they got home at 4:30. What a day!

I think I was more in shock when the cast fell off then when she actually broke it. Seeing a cast come off is just not something I expected! But everything looks good. We were so blessed that when it came off it did not snag the pins! That would have been horible! But they x-rayed her arm and everything looks good. Two more weeks in the new cast. What a story!

Pink or Blue?

Today was a day I have waited for since I found out we were going to have another baby. Today was the day we got to find out if it is a boy or a girl. The ultrasound tech asked if we wanted to find out the sex of the baby and I blurted out "Yes!" The first look she pointed out that the cord was inbetween the baby's legs, but just a second later we had a clear view. The baby was all over the place, so we got to see a few different times a clear view of the baby's boy parts. That's right, BOY! It is, as you will see, clear as can be. We are so excited to have a little boy! He was quite the mover. He was rolling and switching positions the whole time. That made it a little difficult for the tech. She would get a perfect shot, but before she could freeze frame it he would move again. It was so fun! The ultrasound took about 45 minutes, so we got to see him from every angle. I loved it!

So, a boy!!! I am so excited to add a little boy to the family. Chant needs another male in the house. I had a feeling that it was a boy and I have even bought a few little shirts and pairs of pants. It was just perfect to really know. Now we are thinking about paint colors. I would rather not have my little boy's room be pink ;) I have been scattered all day because it is all I can think about. A BOY!!!

So, family reactions. My mother literally screamed with joy. My dad said "Yes!" Everyone else was just as excited. Now the big debate is a name. We thought we knew what we wanted to name this baby, but I think it will take a little bit longer to decide. So, back to the drawing table. We'll let you know when we decide. We do have until June to figure it out.

We are excited and it just feels good. Now our little family will be complete. I have everything I have ever wanted. Life, it's all good!

Brinnley Beth turns 3

January 26 was the big day for Brinnley. It was a Saturday, so it was nice because we had Dad with us all day long. We didn't really do much until later in the day. We wandered through the mall for a while and then went to dinner. When we were finished eating our waiter got the attention of the entire restaurant and had them sing happy birthday. While they were singing he had Brinn wave and blow kisses. At first she was a little shy, but then she started eating it up. She was waving and smiling. It was so fun. I think she felt really special.

When we got home it was time for presents. Dad hit the jackpot when he got Brinnley an addition to the farm Ainsley got for Christmas. THey fight over the farm, so we thought that would end if they each had their own. (We were wrong.) And she loved he dress up outfit from Grandpa! She said she was a little princess. She definately got the present thing down. Open it and then on to the next one.

Last came the cake. She picked her own special Princess cake. Her and Ainsley play with the princesses every day. She helped sing happy birthday to herself. It was so cute!

My little girl is growing up! She is so sweet and I cannot wait to see her growth through this next year. My little baby is growing up!

My Crazy Girls!

So last night was another crazy night at my parents house. There are 26 people at the house right now for our Family Christmas celebration. As you can imagine, getting the girls to bed is quite the challenge. We put Ainsley to bed first and she was sound asleep when we put Brinnley to bed. All was quiet for a long time, so we thought they were both asleep. Chant walked by the bedroom a while later and he thought he heard a noise. He opened the door to quite the site. He came to get me right away so I could see. Here is Ainsley standing in one corner of her Pack n' Play. The rest of the crib was completely filled. Brinnley had put everything from shoes and coats to toys to blankets and pillows in Ainsley's bed. It was so funny! I could barely see Ainsley's little head in the middle of everything. The funny thing was I think Ainsley really liked it. They were partners in crime. Little buddies. I loved it, even though it took a long time for them to get to bed. These are the moments that make my days special.

I couldn't believe it!

A few days before Christmas we were at Margi's house. The whole family (Kristy and Jenny included) were in the living room. The little girls were playing and the rest of us were watching. Ainsley climbed on a chair that was pushed up against the television. I said to her, "AInsley come back here or you will hurt your eyes." She turned around and looked at me, pointed her finger and said as serious as can be, "I'm watchin' a movie." I sat there shocked that my 17 month old daughter had just put me in my place. After a minute I started to laugh. I unfortunately was the only one who heard it, but as soon as I told the others, we all started to laugh.

My Ainsley Jean started saying words this summer while we were in Idaho. When we got back to Missouri the beginning of September she really started talking. She now speaks in sentences and she talks very clearly. I am a little nervous for what things will be like when she gets older since she is all ready talking back. But it is so fun to have conversations with my little one. A phrase that Kristy taught us while we were there over Christmas was "cheeky monkey." I love it! That's my baby girl alright!
