Easter

Easter was wonderful this year.  The Easter Bunny was going through a recession, but the kids didn't seem to care.  They each got a a big chocolate bunny and the Easter Bunny had littered the yard with eggs.

They were thrilled with their full buckets.

I think the best part of Easter for us this year was the true focus on the Resurrection.  We talked about it at home, in church classes, and the Sacrament speakers left my heart full of gratitude for my Savior and His sacrifice for me.  Thank you Amber and Bryan for the beautiful talks.  We didn't have new dresses, but we took great care with hair and choosing outfits.  And after all that, we forgot to take pictures.  Oh well.  It was a beautiful day.

Our home teachers came after church and then when they left we went to Gran's to see her and Jen for a while.  It was just a nice relaxed day thinking about what is important.

EGGS!

This picture of Ainsley I took to document the first day of wearing shorts this year, on March 30.  It was a beautiful day!  Sunny and warm.

Also on March 30 we went to Carl and Sokie's (Chant's step-brother) for an Easter Egg Hunt.  Kerry and Frances and Frances' brother Leland and his family were there as well.  It was a party!  First we ate lots of yummy food.  Then we sent all the kids inside while the adults hid the eggs, well kind of.  There were so many eggs we eventually gave up on "hiding" them and we just started scattering them across the yard.  When all the eggs were scattered, we lined the kids up according to age and set them loose.

Every child's basket was sufficiently filled.  They even got spoiled with Pez and golden eggs with money inside.  Brinnley got $8, Ainsley $4, and Porter $2.  They were feeling very rich.

We had such a great day playing with cousins and talking.  Sokie is amazing and I enjoyed the day talking to her.

A Day at Gran's

March 23 we spent the day at Margi's.  Her sister, Linda, and niece, Amy, came to visit from Denver.  Jen, Mike, Kristy, and Will all came over as well.  Jen played "Grandpa" so the kids could sing for Amy and Linda.
This is Brinnley's current favorite shirt.  It's a Von Dutch shirt we got a D.I. last year and I've been saving it, just waiting for it to fit.  She loves this shirt and I think it looks so cute on her.  Part of the appeal is that it has snaps, just like Grandpa's shirts.
Gran and Porter had some bonding time while washing dishes.  Porter loves to help wash the dishes.
We has so much fun playing with Will.  He is such a fun, cute little boy.  He does this scooting thing that is so cute.  He moves so fast!  It is so funny to watch.  We also had fun with Amy's dog.
It was a really nice day and it was so good to see Amy and Linda!  Love you guys!

Kindergarten Orientation

March 22 was Kindergarten Orientation.  Sooo strange that my little man will be going to Kindergarten!  There were a few different areas that had different games for the kids to play so they could see the kinds of things they will be doing in Kindergarten.  Porter loved the games  and did so well, and it was nice for me to know that Porter knew all those things and could do the games all on his own.  After we played all the games, Porter got to talk to all the Kindergarten teachers.  He wasn't shy about introducing himself.  I think it helped because he knew the girls' teachers and the two he didn't know were very nice.  He sat and talked for a while to one of them.  I think this little boy is ready to go!  And of course he was so excited to have his own shirt, just like the girls!  I love this little boy so much and I am going to miss him so much when he's at school next year!

Leprechauns

This year for St. Patrick's Day the Leprechaun Hunters made little houses to draw the Leprechauns.  When they go into the house the little green men are caught and they can't get out.

The morning of St. Patrick's Day the kids ran down to the kitchen to see if their traps worked.  And it their great delight, there was a little green man in each house.  And they each left a pot of gold (gold wrapped candy).  It was a pretty good day!

Daddy Daughter Dance

March 1 was the Daddy Daughter Dance for our ward.  It just happened that my parents were coming into town, so we told Grandpa to bring his dancing boots.  The girls were so excited!  We curled hair, put on perfume and lip glass and they were ready to go.  Ainsley picked her own outfit.  I love this sweet girl!

Brinnley looked so cute in her fancy poofy skirt.  We recreated the baptism hairdoo per her request.  I'm getting pretty good at it now.

Such Beautiful Girls!  Just love them!

Grandpa didn't disappoint.  He came ready for a night out.  Chant was only going to wear jeans but he saw how good Grandpa looked and he decided to change.

They all came home smiling.  Grandpa was Chant looked like they needed a cold drink and to put their feet up.  They said the girls were dancing queens and barely took a break to eat the treats.  I think they all had a great time.  They even had to demonstrate a few of their new moves.  Such a fun night for them!

My girls

I am really far behind in blogging, but I wanted to add these two pictures.  Feb 13 was crazy hair day at school.  Brinnley always lets me do fun things.  She had close to 10 crazy buns all over her head.  It was even more crazy after she'd been playing at recess and running around.

Feb 5th was the 100th day of school for Ainsley.  They had a big party and made these awesome hats.  But another reason I wanted to document this picture was because of her outfit.  This is one of her favorite combinations.  She loves these pink pants with this red gingham shirt and this green shirt.  It always makes me smile and I wonder if her teacher thinks I'm color blind, but she loves it and that's all that matters to me!
